Inspo Roundup: End of 2025 and The Start of 2026

Artists, tech, books, and other things that have been inspiring me at this moment.

At any one given moment, there are too many things that are inspiring me and bouncing around in my head - but since it's the beginning of a New Year I thought it would be beneficial for me to document what's been lighting me up in the last few months as I continue moving forward pretty quickly.

From Q4 2025 all the way up to now (January 2026), here are the things that have my head and heart spinning.

"SAG HARBOR" - Tyler, the Creator

I've been an Odd Future fan since I discovered them in 2011, and Tyler has never stopped killin' it. I am not exaggerating when I say that I've had this video on repeat every day since it dropped on Christmas Day 2025. It's not even on any DSPs so I'll open up my YouTube app on my iPhone when I'm out walking in the city if I wanna hear it.

Tyler getting on the quote-unquote drumless rap wave is a lot of fun, and the song samples a 1983 recording called "Cobra Heart" by Cobra Heart Band (probably why it won't be uploaded to any DSPs any time soon).

P.S. - If you wanna hear some of my other favorite entries in the "drumless" category, check out this tune by Boldy James and this tune by Freddie Gibbs.

"Eternity Egg" - An Indie Game for PC by USERLANDS

A bunch of my artist friends and I have been following this game's creator on Instagram for a while as they've been posting in-development clips of the game, and it seemed like it would never come out.

And then in December 2025 - it did! Well, the early access version was released on Steam, at least.

The game so far has had great reviews - or at least, entertaining ones - and has been played and reviewed by huge content creators like Asmongold. I've seen it described as a schizo-game in some reviews, but like... in a positive way.

I'm like 95% sure it was made in Unity, too, which is directly relevant to my interests. If you have Steam, a PC, and an interest in platformers with bizarre art styles and OSTs, check out Eternity Egg on Steam now.

"20 km/h" - A book by Woshibai 我是白

This book came out in 2024 and is a collection of comics. I've been following its creator on Instagram for much longer, but I never got my hands on this collection until 2025.

Woshibai - or 我是白 (lit. "I Am White" in Chinese) - is a Shanghai-based artist who has gained traction for their black-and-white comics that often ask the reader to go "...huh?" and then "...oh", and then "huh" again, but in a more declarative tone.

20 km/h is an imported and translated collection of Woshibai's work where each page features one of their signature 2-panel comics like this post here from their IG.

"Air Max Day" - A TouchDesigner installation for Nike by Alexander Newman Hall

I can't say I'd thank the Instagram algorithm for many things, but I definitely gotta give it props for introducing me to the work of Alexander Newman Hall, an interactive digital artist who uses TouchDesigner and other mechanical objects to create interactive live installations.

Somehow, his Instagram post about his Air Max Day installation came across my feed and I loved it. I think I got shown it because a friend and I have been discussing getting into TouchDesigner and, well, the algorithm hears all. (Or more likely, Meta has access to the DMs I send with my colleagues on IG and serves me content based on that...)

TouchDesigner has become a massively growing interest for me as I explore mixing the digital with the physical like my work in AR and in projection mapping. My schedule is packed right now with both client work and personal products I'm trying to launch, but I hope to actually dive into TouchDesigner at some point in 2026.

The Delta Sky Club

This isn't really a work that I can link to per se, but if you've never been in one of these I encourage you to go.

I've always loved the architecture and spatial design of airports in general, and it can be oddly both calming and exhilerating to be in one of these lounges when traveling. The free food and beer ain't bad, either.

You're always around other people who seem busy, well-dressed, and succesful. You can even make yourself feel special by getting your own laptop out and pretending to work on something (or even by actually working on something).

To paraphrase Steve Harvey, you should fly first-class every now and then so that you know what you're missing and are inspired to work back up to it.

There are many other things I'm inspired by lately, like some of my new colleagues in the spatial world and the new products my friends and I have been building... But you guys aren't allowed to know about that stuff 🤫.

Let's keep getting our inspo up,
- Davey ✌️
